Overview
ELC-LTTRTO240-TBP is an Enermax LIQTECH TR4 II 240mm liquid CPU cooler used in Exxact systems, especially Threadripper/TR4-class builds. In these tickets it appears most often as either a full AIO cooling failure causing severe CPU overheating, throttling, or shutdowns, or as a radiator-fan-specific failure that creates noise, reduced cooling, or both ([11626], [13654], [15288], [25587], [8886]) ...and 10 more.
Known Issues
-
cpu-cooler-failure, 15 tickets. This is the dominant pattern, including pump failure, general AIO failure, hot DIMMs/chipset, overheating at idle, thermal shutdowns, and BIOS temperatures far above normal ([11626], [13654], [15288], [24784], [8886]) ...and 10 more. -
fan-speed-issues, 7 tickets. Several cases were narrowed to radiator fans becoming loud, loose, rubbing, rattling, or stopping entirely, sometimes without immediate pump replacement being needed ([16887], [26129], [34287], [36045], [4799]) ...and 2 more. -
overheating, 9 tickets. Customer-visible symptoms commonly included idle temperatures around70-80°C, stress temperatures around90-110°C, thermal throttling, boot instability, or shutdowns ([11626], [13654], [15288], [24784], [25587]) ...and 4 more. -
rma-workflow, 13 tickets. Most tickets became cooler-only RMAs, with repeated questions about return-first versus advance replacement, shipping responsibility, and whether only the cooler or the entire system should be sent in ([11626], [14425], [18352], [24784], [8886]) ...and 8 more.
Common Questions
- What does failure usually look like on this cooler? The most common signs are very high CPU temperature at idle or light load, thermal shutdown under stress, boot instability, or CPU throttling that slows the machine before outright failure ([11626], [13654], [15288], [24784], [25587]).
- Can just the fan be replaced, or does the whole cooler need replacement? Both happened. Some tickets were resolved with fan-only replacement when the pump and radiator were still usable, but Exxact sometimes chose full-cooler replacement when overheating suggested broader degradation ([5554], [16887], [4799], [36045], [34346]).
- Should the whole system be returned? Usually no. These cases were commonly handled as component-only cooler RMAs to avoid longer downtime and freight risk ([14425], [18352], [8886], [24784], [11626]).
- Can it be swapped for an air cooler instead? Evidence here says Exxact generally kept the system on liquid cooling. In one ticket, support explicitly said the system was designed for liquid cooling and shipped another liquid unit instead of approving an air-cooler substitute ([15288]).
-
Is this model still directly replaceable? Not always. Later tickets state the original Enermax unit was
EOL, which pushed Exxact toward alternate paths such as replacement fans only or a validated substitute cooler ([24784], [34287], [34346], [36045]). - Does fan-only self-install affect warranty? In at least one EOL case, Exxact explicitly confirmed warranty coverage would remain intact after the customer installed replacement Enermax fans on the original cooler ([34346]).

Asetek 35-102-0000354, the main documented substitute. AfterELC-LTTRTO240-TBPreachedEOL, Exxact sometimes validated this Asetek cooler plusARCTICfans as an alternate replacement path, though one ticket later showed the substitute radiator did not physically fit the customer’s system ([34287], [34346], [36045]). - Replacement Enermax radiator fans, a frequent partial-fix path. Several later tickets show that the actual failing part was the fan set, not always the entire liquid-cooling assembly, making Enermax fan kits a common confusion pair with full-cooler replacement ([5554], [16887], [34346], [36045]).
- Other Enermax AIO models used in Exxact systems. This cooler appears in the same broad failure family as other Enermax liquid coolers where support often diagnoses pump/fan failure through overheating, BIOS temp rise, or abnormal noise before moving to component RMA ([11626], [13654], [24784]).
