Gigabyte G482-Z54 Mod PCIe Option B Configuration

Mod PCIe Specs/Options:

Option B +4x U.2 -lose rear AOC slot 

• 8x x16 double width rear slots for gpu

• 6x U.2 bays

Reroute lanes from rear. Option B requires 1x SlimLine x8 to 2x SlimLine x4 cable. 

Example: Broadcom 05-60004-00, Supermicro CBL-SAST-1281-100

Reroute connector P1G1_1 & P1G1_2 on the motherboard to the U.2 ports on the backplane corresponding to drive bay 4, 5, 6 & 7.

BIOS Settings

Option B requires the following BIOS settings:
Advanced > PCI Subsystem Settings > U2_P1_G1 Lanes > set to [x4 x4 x4 x4]

Default in BIOS, U2_P1_G1 Lanes is set to auto. If it isn’t changed to [x8 x4 x4], the system will not detect the drives or additional devices using this mod.
