Document Scope
This KB article provides a comprehensive guide to enabling SR-IOV and IOMMU for Windows 11 on ASUS WRX80e Sage motherboards. Additionally, it includes information on the circumstances where IOMMU would be disabled, the reasoning behind enabling IOMMU, and the associated errors that can occur without the proper IOMMU configuration.
Notes
Normally, when running a linux distribution or windows 10, IOMMU should be disabled for optimal performance. However, with Windows 11, IOMMU needs to be set to enabled so that NVIDIA GPUs can communicate with NVIDIA drivers. If IOMMU is disabled, the driver will not be able to communicate with the GPUs properly and the user would see errors in Windows under the device properties.
Enable SR-IOV
Boot into the System BIOS and you can find this setting under:
Advanced > PCI Subsystem Settings > SR-IOV Support > set to [Enabled]
Enable IOMMU
IOMMU can also be found in the BIOS at the following location:
Advanced > AMD CBS > NBVIO Common Options > IOMMU > set to [Enabled]
Once you've set both of these as advised, then you want to save your changes and exit.
